This presentation was given to Town Council on Monday May 19th.

It is a sad pictorial of the lack of maintenance to our water system.

The previous town management neglected our system for years to the point where the Central Arizona Project (thru which we obtain our water) was about to initiate a notice of Violation.

Fortunately our new Utilities Manager David Prinzhorn intervened, made the necessary repairs ( at a cost of several thousand dollars) and now has the pumps on a regularly scheduled maintenance plan.

In response, John Hoeppner made the following comments:

Thank you for sending.  The biggest problem is the fact that the Town of C.C. paid 3 to 4 times too much for the water company.  It was a clunker and now the repair bills are coming due.

Sam replied as follows:
John,
You have either innocently missed the point or you are spinning the issue to cover up the fact that none or little maintenance was done over the last six years.  Of course the Town paid too much for the Cave Creek Water Company-given and irrelevant.  These pumps are the Town’s only source of water and should have been inspected weekly!
In the coming weeks I will be detailing additional examples of tax payer monies that have been wasted by the town’s previous management.
Editors’ comments: There was no need for Cave Creek to acquire the water company. The water company was acquired as a vendetta against Jay George who snubbed the Town and sold the water company to a third party. Cave Creek citizens would have been much better off with a smaller town government and oversight of their water rates and quality by the Arizona Corporation Commission. The Water Company fiasco is just another glaring example of the mismanagement of the Town by its former manager Usama Abujbarah and the failed leadership of the previous town council with our “iconic” Mayor Francia at the helm.
It’s good to see Hoeppner admitting to prior mistakes.
