Hello Incumbent Councilmen and Recall Challengers,

I spoke at call to the public on Monday evening to alert the community that the Public Forum will be held Thursday February 12th, 7:00pm, at Town Hall.  I did not see it reported in the Sonoran News, so I wanted to go ahead and make sure all those invited to participate are fully aware.

Before certain challengers indicated they would likely not participate, there had been some concern that a neutral moderator be secured. I have secured Dr. Adam Symonds to moderate.  Dr. Symonds is the Director of Speech and Debate for Arizona State University.  Rest assured he and I have never met. So, I am hopeful you will all reconsider, and choose to participate. Also, please note that in keeping with the feedback I got from Bob Williams who was acted as Steve LaMar’s proxy in responding to the initial invitation, any question from the public will be entertained.

The format will be 2-3 minutes for opening statements (dependent upon how many participants, the more participants the less time for opening comments).  Questions from the audience will then be taken with response times limited to one minute. The question and answer session will last approximately one hour and fifteen to one hour and thirty minutes before the  event winds down with two minute closing statements.  In keeping with this schedule we should be able to wrap by n 9:00pm.

It would be a real shame if all the public got from those forcing a recall was sound and fury in print, but no debate. [Editor’s Note: We presume Adam is referring to the Sonoran News, It is a tale, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing].

Hope to see you on the 12th.

Best,

Adam Trenk
