Here’s Don’s view of Cave Creek:
Don calls us the Dark Side, DS for short. What Don is doing is known as projection in psychology. Projection is a defense mechanism that involves Don taking his unacceptable qualities or feelings and ascribing them to other people. Another definition of projection can be found here. Like all despots, dictators, and demagogues, Don claims that he is just, honest, and noble, but deep down inside, he knows that he’s a fraud, a poser, a devious sociopath hell bent on controlling Cave Creek. How convenient that Don’s initials are DS. It makes the process of projection so much easier. Don claims that we’re liars, but the factual issues that we raise about the malfeasance and corruption that took place under the Usama administration are well researched.
Don dismisses us as a minority, but “never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Mead. Don calls us liberal because we want to change the status quo of Cave Creek. We want a town based on ethics, honesty, and open dialogue. We want a town hall based on competence, not on fealty.
At the Town Council Meeting on Monday June 15th, George Ross will speak at the Call to the Public. He will condemn the Sonoran News as a racist, anti-Semitic publication. Council will be provided with copies of the Nazi cartoon and threats published in the tabloid. He will ask Council to rescind its recent reward of advertising revenues to the tabloid. Please support George by attending the meeting. Your presence and your voice, if you care to speak, will demonstrate that the citizens of Cave Creek will not tolerate bigotry and religious threats to anyone.
Editor’s note: We wonder why the Aryan Nation picked Cave Creek for a rally in 2003 and what part Sorchych had in convincing them to come to Cave Creek for their rally.

THE ISSUE IN CAVE CREEK IS ETHICAL AND MORAL. COUNCIL HAS REWARDED THE PRESS WITH ADVERTISING REVENUES. A PRESS THAT HAS FOMENTED ANTI-SEMITIC AND RACIAL THREATS. IS THAT WHAT WE WANT FOR OUR TOWN?
A PRESS THAT VILIFIES A SEGMENT OF OUR CITIZENS BECAUSE OF THEIR
RACIAL HERITAGE AND RELIGIOUS BELIEFS? A PRESS THAT SPEWS HATRED AGAINST JEWS? THIS IS HOW THE HOLOCAUST BEGAN IN 1938.
I SERVED IN THE MILITARY TO ENSURE IN PART, RELIGIOUS FREEDOM FOR ALL
OF US. I DID NOT SERVE TO ENRICH A PSYCHOTIC PRESS.

Editor’s Comment: Don’s cartoon depicted a neighborhood aligned in the shape of a Swastika with a caption claiming in could be dangerous out on the roads. Shortly thereafter, Adam Trenk’s new truck mysteriously locked up its rear axle due to all the gear lube having been drained from the differential.
Don’s obsession with Adam Trenk wasn’t because Adam was from New Jersey. Don hated Adam because Adam was Jewish. Don wants Cave Creek to be the birthplace of the Fourth Reich, he and “our founder” Herr Hoeppner. Given Hoeppner’s distaste for Adam, it would appears that Hoeppner shares Don’s discriminatory slant against Jews.

Despicable Don winds up this column saying this: “Italians were Dagos, Mexican’s and Spaniards were Spics, English were Johnny Bulls, German’s were Krauts, Polish were Pollacks, Chinese were Chinks and Japanese were Japs.”
May 15: Five days after the differential failed, a cartoon was published in the Sonoran News depicting a swastika with the caption, “Once off your driveway, you’re in the land of the enemy! Drive with care!”
